Joe Biden Campaign’s Senior Latina Adviser Quits

A senior Latina consultant has given up previous Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential project amidst aggravation over the candidate’s position on migration.

The leading aide, Vanessa C├írdenas, supervised of outreach to Latino and African-American companies. The social bio of the previous Biden National Coalitions Director now reads “previously with @joebiden.”

Politico was first to report on C├írdenas’s departure.

2 sources close to the previous aide informed the news outlet that her exit was prompted by the project’s lack of focus on Latino concerns.

” The campaign is simply hyper-focused on whites in Iowa and African-Americans and it positioned less worth on Latino outreach,” one migration activist said.

” Vanessa kept banging her head against the wall trying to get them to take the neighborhood more seriously,” another revealed. “And Biden just actually won’t change when it concerns the method he talks about migration. It became too much.”

The advancement comes as Biden deals with discontent from Latino groups for his rejection to commit to a moratorium on deportations — something his 2020 rivals, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT), have pledged to do.

On Thursday, Biden was challenged by a protester in South Carolina, who pressed the former vice president to end all deportations if chosen president.

” I will not stop all deportations. If you have a, if you dedicate a crime, that’s a felony,” Biden shot back at the protester, who recognized himself as an activist and 2008 Obama project volunteer.

The protester was among numerous members of the far-left immigrant rights group, known as Movimiento Cosecha, to oppose Biden at the campaign stop.

Following the incident, Movimiento Cosecha released a statement condemning the former vice president’s unwillingness to support a “full moratorium” on deportations.

” By now, it is clear that the immigrant neighborhood can not trust Biden,” the group stated. “We won’t accept empty pledges of migration reform, while our families are torn apart. We can not permit history to duplicate itself.”
