South Carolina authorities desire to bring back tally witness requirement

WASHINGTON– South Carolina authorities are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to block a lower court ruling that suspends the requirement for mail-in tallies to be signed by a witness as well as the voter.

In August, the Supreme Court declined to obstruct a lower court ruling that had actually suspended a requirement for two witness signatures on mail tallies in Rhode Island.
