Federal Prisons Heighten Restrictions to Stem Spread of Coronavirus

The federal Bureau of Prisons stated Tuesday it would keep countless inmates at facilities across the country secured their cells with minimal exceptions for the next 14 days as authorities try to stem the spread of the coronavirus after one prisoner passed away and more prisoners and staff test positive for the disease.

Prison authorities stopped short of calling the uncommon move a lockdown however stated inmates would just be allowed out in small groups for things like showers, commissary and call.
